Yoga looks so confusing on social media, doesn’t it?  Not to mention, mostly filled with all white faces, with slim young super bendy bodies.

It’s actually very misleading about what a regular class looks like and puts a lot of people off even starting. I have no issues with people filming their practice, I do too, it’s just not what a class looks like.

 

BENEFITS

General feel good factors are everywhere online. Here are some others:

  • Yoga moves all parts of your body rhythmically, no part is missed out so every last bit of stress is shifted.

  • People only ever say they feel better after class, not worse.

  • ‘Better’ can mean a feeling of peace, feeling uplifted, less achy, a calmer mind and a balanced nervous system.

  •  There’s a willingness here to chat, to be open and welcoming to new students.

  • You’ll relearn healthier breathing patterns - this directly links to reduced stress and anxiety, better sleep and will aid digestion and soothe inflammation.

  • Depending on the style you choose, you’ll build muscle tone and feel ‘freer’ in your body.

  • Yoga complements all other sports so whatever you do, yoga will enhance your abilities.
