Change your Perspective!
A Happy Journey to Inversions
Saturday July 13th, 2-4pm at Indee Yoga
Ever wondered why some Yogi’s want to stand on their hands instead of their feet?
It’s not always because they want that Instagram shot; going upside down suspends time and is HUGE fun.
A happy journey to being upside down is a safe journey.
Natalie and Nicola will guide this uplifting two hour inversions workshop.
For every level of practitioner in the room there will be a place to safely begin and a point from which to progress; with the emphasis on a greater understanding of your own anatomy and the pose set-up that will work for you as an individual, we inhabit different bodies after all.
You will be led through Pranayama, full body conditioning and a warm up flow, before we take flight!
Lift Off includes Headstand (Sirsasana), Feathered Peacock (Pincha Mayurasana) and Handstand (Adho Mukha Vrksasana). We will work closely with each yogi, using the wall, yoga props and showing you how to spot each other for support.
We will also be ensuring that we learn how to fall, but let’s call that ‘safe exits!’
Land softly with grounding Yin Yoga and Tibetan Bowls, to restore the joints and harmonise the energetic body.
Prerequisites are a good sense of humour and willingness to fall and try again, because such is the journey to changing perspective. An ability to hold your weight on your hands in Crow (Bakasana) is helpful.
Natalie Brophy was a competitive gymnast, and continued her passion for expressing herself in movement in Hatha Yoga training. Her natural love of helping people overcome fears on the mat always leads to huge laughter and fun in her teaching.
Nicola Glenn is a 500Hr Registered Yoga Teacher in Vinyasa practices such as Mandala Vinyasa, Ashtanga and Rocket, as well as the healing practice of Yin Yoga. She is renowned for laughing even when falling on her butt, and both loves karaoke and is terrible at singing in equal measure.
